A touch of leather ... Brangelina style

Somebody once said leather transcends fashion, leather is a fashion of its own. Whoever said that probably wasn't a vegetarian ... or a cow, come to think of it. Still, they weren't wrong:

The other thing about leather is, like a good pair of jeans it wears well, and the more beat up it gets, the more trendy it looks. Maybe it wouldn't take you to a five-star restaurant (neither will the jeans, for that matter) but "trendy" is ... trendy.

Nice one. Somebody else once noticed how good black looks on blonds. Or blondes. The difference is all in the 'e' ... makes a world of difference for such a little letter, right?
And speaking of blond -- does anybody else remember back this far into the vastness of time:
Ye gods, I remember it well. Come to think of it, it was a lot of fun, too. Haven't wantched the vampyre movie in far too long -- but I did watch Legends of the Fall the other night and it's till a great movie.

Will Smith and Barack Obama: DC fantasy, with (or without!) the loincloth...

There's a movie you know HAS to be made. It just has to be, since the world in general and the USA in particular made history a few weeks ago.

I'm not having you on, this is not a wind up (nor is it a drill); have a read of this:

Will Smith Ready To Play The Part Of Barack Obama

LONDON, Eng., Jan.23 (TOTI) -- Now that Barack Obama has officially taken Presidential office, it comes as no surprise that there's talk of a Barack Obama movie. Leading man, William Smith, is ready to step up and play the part of the first bi-racial President of the United States. At the London premiere of his latest film, Seven Pounds, Smith said, "If I am ordered by my commander in chief to star in a film about him, I will do my duty as an American." (on Times of the Internet).

This would be cool. I guess. I supposed. I'm not quite sure. Thoughts, anyone?

And while we're here ... you probably haven't seen the pic below, so, uh, enjoy...

(Yep, the art is by Boris: copyright and so on, so forth, all rights observed, all wrongs obverted ... and yes, that IS a word -- look it up!)

Brendan's back! But I doubt he'll be looking quite like this in his new movie...

Brendan Fraser is back on the big screen in a new fantasy movie -- heavy on the CGI and thick with thrills, chills, spills, one would imagine, with a thumnail sketch like Inkheart: "he plays a book collector with a magical ability to bring famous literary characters to life by merely reading their stories aloud. When his wife disappears into a rare, out-of-print book, he and his daughter (Eliza Hope Bennett) set out to find a copy and bring her back to the real world. (Want more? Go right to The Sunday Paper.)

Now, why couldn't he have gotten himself involved in a Mel Keegan novel?! Well ... maybe not for a family movie, I guess. But you can dream, right? Speaking of which --

There's some serious talent out there in cyberpace, boys and girls, and some of it's dialled in on Brendan, and a swag of it could have popped right out of something Mel Keegan might have written! Got your doubts? Try this one on for size -- and once again, if anyone has a credit and a back link, let me know, I'd be thrilled to post both ... if only to encourage the artists! Grab your hat -- here we go, now:

Now, this what I call art. Fine art. You got a problem with what?

While we're here -- have you seen the Inkheart trailer? It's been circulating for a looong time, but the movie is right around the corner now:

Divine streaker with wings on heels

Give this commercial an award. Seriously. Is there a photo-art version of the Oscar, the Emmy, the Bafta? This piece deserves it:

Could be part of a collaction that's been touring cyberspace for a while now, the "mythic gods" collection of semi-photo, semi-art. This gentleman would be Mercury, messenger of the gods ... and do the old eyes deceive or would it be fair to say he bears a more than passing similarity to Brendan Fraser?? Full marks to whoever's behind this one. (If you would like to give me a credit and a back link I would be delighted to post both!) What a beauty shot. And let's stay on the subject of Brendan Fraser for a bit...

Who wants to be a soccer ball when they grow up?

You've heard of wanting to be a soccer player when you grow up, but ... who'd like to be this soccer ball?!

There's a story attacked to this picture. I'm NOT going to give you the link back to the page it came from because that page is very, very explicit and a few gentle readers might not be quite ready just yet for what'll slap you in the face when you get there (!) ...

But -- the story that goes along with this picture? As you may know, in order to meet with legal requirements, all pictures on website pictures are supposed to carry ALT tags in the code, which are translated by braille systems and text to voice readers, so that blind surfers can follow content. Good idea?

Great idea. However --

The ALT tag on this one (it pops up looking like a yellow sticky note when you hover over the pic; you know the ones) reads ... I kid you not ... "Angelina Jolie." True.

Jeepers, Ange, what've you done to yourself now?! And what the hell does Brad say about this?!

Wolverine's Day Off ... or, Logan at the beach

All work and no play makes even the Wolverine a dull boy. So every now and then ... and especially when the sun's shining and the weather's fine ... Logan takes the day off and pops down to the beach, there masquerading as an ordinary human being who enjoys a dip and doesn't have retractable claws. Don't believe me? Check this out:

There you are -- you probably believe me now! While we're here -- have you see the Wolverine trailer yet? No? Then stick around:

This is a movie I am definitely going to see in the theaters. Is it just my imagination, or has Hugh Jackman put on a lot more muscles for this prequel? Looking forward to this -- it opens in Australia in about five months, along with the new Star Trek movie and a swag of others.

Just what the Doctor ordered. So, where's Jack?!

You might or might not know that David Tennant ... the Doctor himself! ... looks just as good in high heels, skirts and lipstick as he does in a kilt. If all this is news to you, well -- scroll down and get your sense of humor online at the same time:

...oh, the kilt remark? I was joking, wasn't I? Well ... no, actually. Here you go:

Now, there's elegance. Style. Am I right, though, is that Cameron tartan? I don't don't a hell of a lot about the tartans so if there's somebody out there who knows, tell me! (You'll also have seen Captain Jack Harkness in a kilt, and -- how about Tom Baker, the Doctor from the late 1970s? He also looks a treat in a kilt ... and I've got the pictures to prove it.)
